A man was detained by the police around 1am on Thursday November 19 after being seen by officers acting suspiciously near the slipway on the A880, in Kilmun.

When the man saw an approaching police vehicle he tried to hide out of view of the officers by climbing over the sea wall and dropping onto the shore. The officers stopped and searched the man and found that he had several item of property in his possession that he could not account for. This property has been taken from him and stored at Dunoon Police Office.

Police are appealling to residents in Kilmun to check their properties and vehicles and report anything missing. Residents are also urged to contact Dunoon Police Office if they believe that they have any information in relation to the incident. Call police on 101.
