The Armistice of November 11, 1918 is marked on Remembrance Sunday throughout the UK.

 

This morning people will gather at war memorials, and in halls and churches, to remember those who have fallen in combat to keep us safe.

In Inveraray pupils of the Royal Burgh’s primary school wrote the names engraved in cold brass on the local memorial on individual wooden crosses. These were placed in the memorial garden on The Green to form a poignant focal point for today’s memorial ceremony.

Such touching gestures will be repeated throughout the country as remembrance gatherings take place.
