A planned appearance in Dunoon by one of Britain’s most popular comedians, Ed Byrne, has been cancelled.
Agents for the top comic, who was due to appear in the Queen’s Hall on Wednesday, cancelled his appearance due to a lack of advance ticket sales.
Disappointed Lorna Whyte of the Queen’s Hall told the Standard: “These shows need to be supported and people need to buy tickets in advance.
“Top calibre acts like Ed Byrne will not come to Dunoon unless they can guarantee they will have the numbers on the night.
“It is disappointing, what would have been a great show has had to be cancelled, but I have to emphasise to people to make sure they buy their tickets well in advance, no matter who the artiste is.”
