A DAY OF EVENTS FOR THE NANCY GLEN FUND

On Saturday March 3 Dunoon can donate to the fund to help the families of the two fishermen being recovered from the wreck of the Nancy Glen

A day of fundraising activities is being planned, culminating in an evening of some of the best bands in the area performing in Dunoon’s Burgh Hall, where staff are donating their time to the fundraising drive.

The afternoon will see a tea dance and bingo session, and children’s events all taking place.

Community groups and individuals are being encouraged to come up with their own fundraising ideas and businesses are urged to have a collection tin on their counters on the days leading up to the event and to donate prizes and services as raffle prizes.

This is a true community-wide event. There is no need to apply to hold an event – just do it.

Tickets for the Burgh Hall event are available now from the hall and its website.

Chair of the Clyde Fishermen's Association Kenny McNab said: “Thank you for everything you are doing regarding the fundraising, we honestly cannot believe the response we have had to the appeal. Both ourselves at the Clyde Fishermen’s Trust and the families - especially the families - have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of the public to the Nancy Glen fundraising campaign. Argyll in particular has been amazing.
