Easter Basket Raffle for Nancy Glen Appeal

Big-hearted volunteers at a community hall in Glasgow have donated an Easter basket to be raffled in aid of the Nancy Glen.

Members of the Nan McKay Memorial Community Hall came over last Saturday with the basket, which now has pride of place in the window of Bookpoint.

The Hall has been run by volunteers for nearly 35 years, and brings together resources to improve the quality of life the residents of Pollokshields.

Stalwart of the hall, Bill Lawns, has strong connections with Dunoon, and brings members over for trips regularly.

He told the Standard that one of the members makes an Easter basket every year to be raffled, and this year suggested making another one - with the suggestion that it be taken to Dunoon to be raffled in aid of the Nancy Glen.

Tickets are £1 and all proceeds will go to the fun. So do pop into Bookpoint and pick up a ticket - it’s for a very good cause.
