This weekend sees the Sport Relief Mile take place and Paul Kerr, together with son Zander, will be the run starter.

Paul, as many readers will know, is currently in training for the Clyde open water swim in July.

However, the place to be this Sunday March 20 will be the starting point just outside the Yachtsman Café on Dunoon’s West Bay. Registration begins at 1pm for the 2pm run.

If you don’t fancy running you can walk – or even cycle – the route.

The routes are all on the pavement on the shore side of the road. The one-mile run is to the West Bay Play Park and back. The three-mile run is to near Ardenlee and back and the six-mile run is to the Balaclava Garage and back again.

Sport relief has raised more than £260 million since 2002. Money raised is spent by Comic Relief to help people living tough lives in the UK and throughout the world.
