DUNOON ELECTION DATE — MAY 10

ARGYLL and Bute Council announced today (Tuesday) that the election of three councillors in council ward 7 (Dunoon) will be held on Thursday May 10, one week later than the rest of Scotland.

The rescheduled date follows the untimely death of popular SNP candidate Alister MacAlister. The SNP have until April 19 to nominate another candidate.

Previously announced candidates remain nominated, but are entitled to withdraw from the poll, if they wish, by April 19.
