Christopher Brookmyre, celebrated and award-winning crime writer, visited Dunoon Library on Tuesday evening - and the Standard got a chance to have a chat with the so-called ‘tartan noir’ author before the event, although that’s not a term he’d use to describe his work. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park authority has this week approved  a controversial planning application for land to the south of Cuilimuich, Carrick Castle - despite vociferous opposition from local residents and the community council. Full story in tomorrow's paper.
