The Dunoon Observer and Argyllshire Standard has new owners.

 

The historic title has been purchased for an undisclosed sum by Argyll Media Ltd, a sister company of Annan-based DNG Media, the largest independent publisher in Dumfries and Galloway with four local newspaper titles.

THE END OF AN ERA

Marion and John Carmichael announce their retirement, and the last ever Dunoon Observer to be printed in Dunoon rolled off the presses yesterday, and the last newspaper to be printed in Argyll. However, next week will be business as usual, just that the paper will be printed elsewhere. The E&R Inglis presses have fallen silent for the last time.
