Minutes of a January meeting of the Gourock-Dunoon Ferry Services Steering Group – published this week – state that a local pressure group asked to be involved in ‘the assessment and scoring’ of tender submissions for the route. Dunoon Gourock Ferry Action Group (DGFAG), however, say the record is inaccurate.
An internal audit into the management of Dunoon’s 5-a-side cages - and the relationship of the council with Cowal Community Sports Project - has been called for by councillors attending last week’s Bute and Cowal area committee meeting.
The pitches, at the Black Park, next to Dunoon Stadium, which have fallen into disrepair along with the associated floodlighting and changing facilities, were described as being in ‘urgent need’ of attention by Cllr Michael Breslin, who put forward a motion for the investigation.
