Councillor James Robb has this afternoon (May 13) resigned as leader of Argyll and Bute Council - after just three months in the job.
Cllr Robb (SNP) had been under pressure for some time as leader, but moves last week to recruit support from the LibDem and Conservative groups in forming a new administration proved the last straw.

SNP bosses are reported to have suspended seven Argyll and Bute councillors from the party, as the political situation at Kilmory descends ever deeper into farce.
And, according to one former SNP councillor, some elected members have demonstrated that they are "utterly untrustworthy".

TICKETS for the Dunoon Film Festival go on sale today (Friday) after the programme was announced at a launch function in the town’s Burgh Hall last night.
The festival, which will take place at the Burgh Hall and the Studio Cinema, opens on Friday June 14 with a special event celebrating John Byrne’s legendary 1990 BBC TV series Your Cheatin’ Heart.
