Posted at 8pm, Monday February 8

AFTER a long wait, Strachur residents will soon have a footpath linking Forest View and the main A815 road - making the walk to school safer for children - and a pavement from the end of Forest View to the new shinty park.
Councillor Ron Simon, who has been pressing the residents' case, said: “ I am pleased to say that we now have an end in sight. I have had confirmation today (Monday) that we have managed to identify and secure funding from Sustrans and the Development Services department of the council  to undertake kerbing and footway construction on the UC12  Succoth Road from A815 to Forest View, and from Forest View to new shinty park. Works will be completed by end of March 2010
“This has been a long term aspiration for residents in Strachur and I am delighted that we are now about to deliver.”
