Scotland Transerv, the agency responsible for maintaining the region’s trunk road network, has announced that overnight  closures on the A83 Lochgilphead to Inveraray road ended on the evening of Thursday July 1.
With just some white lining and other completion works remaining, a Scotland Transerv spokesman added: “We are also pleased to confirm that while we lost ten days due to the train derailment on the A85 at Cruachan, we completed the night time closures only five working days beyond our original completion date.”
The trunk road between Inveraray and Lochgilphead, the only direct route between the Loch Fyne-side towns, had been closed to traffic between 9pm and 6am on weekdays, since a £675,000 resurfacing project began on May 30.
