Stephen O’Neill (35) of 28 Church Square, Dunoon appeared in private at Dunoon Sheriff Court today (Monday) for the second time, charged with murder and attempted murder.

This follows an incident in Chuch Square on June 3 in which Christopher Ferns (30) died and another man was seriously injured.

No plea or declaration was made and Mr O'Neill has been 'committed until liberated in due course of law'. Under Scots law his case must now go to trial within 110 days.

He can now appeal to the High Court for bail and his case has been sent to the Crown Office.
