JACOBITE LEADER CHARGED
John Black, leader of the Scottish Jacobite Party and the Argyll and Bute candidate, has been charged by Helensburgh police with obstructing a layby.
This followed a complaint from a member of the public. Mr Black has been using a vehicle strikingly decorated with the messages ‘Vote John Black’ and ‘The Jacobite Party’ to canvass. It was parked off the A82 Loch Lomond road south of the Arden roundabout in daylight hours on April 28 when Mr Black was charged.

The candidate has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in Dumbarton.
When contacted for his reaction to the charge, and the suggestion there might be a political motivation, Mr Black said: “You might think that. I couldn't possibly comment.”
