A REPORT into the future of rural education, published after Argyll and Bute Council’s failed 2011 attempt to close over 20 rural schools, was published today (Friday).

As revealed by the Dunoon Observer website on Tuesday, former Argyll and Bute Council communications manager Jo Smith was due to accuse her recent employers of unfair dismissal at a tribunal on Tuesday this week. The hearing, however, did not go ahead.
We understand that Ms Smith accepted a significant payment as compensation, with the standard condition that the actual sum should not be disclosed.

Building work at Ardnadam Pier has raised curiosity in Sandbank, with stories circulating that a new marine enterprise was about to be born.
According to its owner, however, the re-instatement of the pier’s ticket office is merely decorative.

Argyll and Bute Council’s former communications manager, Jo Smith, was due to accuse her former employers of unfair dismissal at an industrial tribunal in Glasgow today (Tuesday).
However, the tribunal will not go ahead after Ms Smith was - we undrstand - yesterday offered an undisclosed sum, understood to be significant, as compensation.
