German students say thanks to Dunoon

The worst critics of Dunoon tend to be Dunoon people – but look at it with an outsider's eye and a quite different Cowal town appears.

A group of six German students has been in the area since last September while attending Sandbank-based Xpand Life College.

They have been so impressed with the area and the warmth of local people that a special cultural exchange is planned tomorrow evening (Saturday June 8) by way of thanks, before they head home on June 24.

Investigations are underway after an alleged serious assault in Strachur yesterday (Wednesday) evening.
