AS Dunoon is gearing up for the first Dunoon Film Festival, which organisers hope will attract a large number of visitors to the town, Argyll Ferries has introduced a restricted service with no late sailings as maintenance is carried out on Gourock linkspan.

The worst critics of Dunoon tend to be Dunoon people – but look at it with an outsider's eye and a quite different Cowal town appears.
A group of six German students has been in the area since last September while attending Sandbank-based Xpand Life College.
They have been so impressed with the area and the warmth of local people that a special cultural exchange is planned tomorrow evening (Saturday June 8) by way of thanks, before they head home on June 24.
