Quadmania Quintet
Enjoy a five star outdoor experience at Quadmania
As Scotland gears up for next year’s ‘Active Homecoming’, a Cowal outdoor centre has proved it’s ahead of the game by earning a coveted five-star award from Visit Scotland.
Quadmania, established in 2002 by David and Fiona Marshall, is the first quad trekking centre to gain the top activity centre rating from Scotland’s tourist agency.
The Marshalls have developed Quadmania into a thriving business while continuing to manage their traditional farm at Blairmore, on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll.
David said: “We are over the moon to get the award; we feel it is reward for all the hard work we have put in to provide an exceptional visitor experience.
“People have less money to spend than before and we must go the extra mile to ensure their time at Quadmania is unforgettable.”
Having a great experience at Quadmania is virtually guaranteed. Located within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, at Stronchullin Farm, it enjoys breathtaking views across the river Clyde - but is just one hour’s drive from Glasgow.
Twenty quads are available, suitable for all ages, and no experience is required. Quadmania is the perfect way for visitors to gain a unique perspective on one of Scotland’s most spectacular corners - and have a lot of fun doing so.
Quadmania also offers archery and clay shooting and teams up with other local outdoor activity specialists to provide multi -activity days.
Mike Cantley, Chair of Visit Scotland and Convenor of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority, said: “I was delighted to hear that David Marshall's "Quadmania" has received a five-star rating.
“I've watched with admiration as David has built his business. He's an exemplar of farm diversification building a thriving tourist business to augment the traditional farm business.
“But what is really special is the personal touch that a local farming family brings to tourist initiatives. David, Fiona and the family know every inch of the land; they offer visitors that element of additional hospitality that makes a day out that bit extra special.”
He continued: “As we head into 2011, when the Homecoming theme is to be ‘Active’, there's a tremendous opportunity for operators like David to exploit the business and employment opportunities that will come as visitors want to partake in more dramatic and experiential recreation.
“My kids love quad bikes and will certainly want to pay the farm a visit. I hope David's recent success becomes the catalyst for a growing thriving business."
