DUNOON Sheriff Court was prepared today to hear the case of two men accused of a serious sexual assault in the town last Thusday.
An interpreter was in place and lawyers swarming about. Then, at the allotted time of 2pm - the court room emptied.
Intense legal debate was taking place in private.
The following statement was then issued by a Crown Office spokesperson: "The Procurator Fiscal at Dunoon received a report concerning two men aged 26 and 27 in connection with an alleged incident in Dunoon on 28 June 2012.
"After full and careful consideration of all the facts and circumstances in this case, Crown Counsel decided they should be liberated pending further enquiries."
