STRATHCLYDE Police today told the Standard that officers are following a ‘positive line of enquiry’ over the alleged serious sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl after local sources revealed detectives had been talking to two men employed in a Cowal hotel.
Around 11pm last Thursday the girl was with a friend of the same age on Alexandra Parade, Dunoon when they met two men, who they went for a walk with along the foreshore.
A short time later, the two girls made their way back on their own to a bus stop on Alexandra Parade, where they were seen by a member of the public who, concerned by their behaviour, called police.
We understand there is likely to be a further police announcement later today.
