POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT

POLICE are investigating the sexual assault of a schoolgirl in Dunoon on Thursday night (June 28) - and need your help.

The 14-year-old girl was with a friend, also aged 14, when she was attacked in the town's Alexandra Parade. She reported the assault to police at 11pm.

At present there is no description of the attacker, but police are appealing to anyone who saw the girls on Alexandra Parade around 11pm on Thursday to contact them, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. 

Detective Inspector Douglas Wilson said: "This inquiry is at a very early stage and we have still to clarify exactly what happened. At this time, there is no description of a suspect.

"Alexandra Parade is normally quite busy with pedestrians and passing traffic and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around 11pm on Thursday and saw the girls to come forward."
