Andrew Black has been elected head boy, and Iona Cairns head girl, for the new academic session at Dunoon Grammar School.
The students were put through their paces more than ever this year as they competed for the prestigious position. Applicants were asked to submit an application form and successful applicants were then interviewed by Mr Shaw (Head Teacher), Mr Clark (Acting Depute Head Teacher), Mhairi Henderson (serving Head Girl) and Ben Milne (serving Head Boy).
A shortlist was formed from this which went to a vote at a special assembly. All of the candidates made very impressive speeches and the results were announced.
Aidan Dick and Andrea Marshall were elected Deputes.
Following the announcement, Mr Clark spoke to the year group, saying: “Congratulations to the winning candidates. All of our candidates gave a fantastic speech and were a real credit to themselves and the school.
“We are very lucky to have such a talented group of senior pupils and I know all of them will make a big contribution in the coming year.”
