HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, paid a flying visit to Dunoon Grammar School on Wednesday May 23 - and flew off having made one or two new fans.
The prince came to Dunoon to mark the 21st anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme in Argyll and Bute.
He arrived by helicopter on Wednesday morning to be greeted by glorious sunshine, smiling Dunoon Grammar School students and the sound of the school's pipe band.
After a traditional 'royal walkabout' session outside the school, he moved inside to meet with award scheme participants and volunteers from all over Argyll, before unveiling a special plaque to mark 21 years of Duke of Edinburgh Awards in the area.
See the Dunoon Observer and Argyllshire Standard on Friday May 25 for full pictorial coverage.
