We've asked the candidates from the four mainstream parties 9 questions, which we are serialising in the printed paper and online (HERE). We will then ask the the best three readers' questions.

What do you think of their responses so far?

Do you have any questions for the LibDem, Labour, SNP, and Conservative candidates?
(please stick to issues reserved to the Westminster parliament)

The rules of the game are that the public's questions should be confined to reserved matters; why, therefore, has Alan Reid been allowed to raise the issue of the ferries - especially since what he says is both inaccurate and misleading?

We did advise the candidates to stick to issues reserved to Westminster.

If they choose to stray from that advice, the public will judge their motives.

It's up to them how they present themselves, and how they interpret advice.

This applies to all candidates.

The Dunoon Observer will be hosting a hustings meeting two weeks before the election date.
A provisional booking has been made for Dunoon's Burgh Hall on Thursday, April 22. Come along and ask Mr Reid himself...

Judging by our poll it seems that SNP supporters are 61% more likely to use an online poll than those of other parties.
Either that or we're looking at a landslide for Mike MacKenzie...

I suspect the huge online lead for the SNP represents the fact that only the SNP are politically active in the way parties used to be. This, of course, may not transfer directly to a similar level of voting on election day, though I would suspect the Tory in second place is a pretty accurate reflection of things as they now stand.
(I doubt if the Nick Clegg effect will last and it would be sad if it did as he is pedalling only the sort of easy sincerity that typified Tony Blair which was without political substance))
