This makes absolute sense.

It would be much cheaper to run one modern building rather than three dilapidated ones. Money could be spent on education rather than building repairs.

Also, in might serve to hasten the end of Scotland's social shame, bigotry.

Separate schools breed suspicion and intolerance born of ignorance. If kids of all faiths were to grow up together this would disappear

It all seems to have gone quiet on the school-merger front in the last couple of weeks.
Has the council seen sense, or are the officers in Kilmory just sharpening their pencils, waiting to prepare their 'consultation?'
Time will tell, but we are on the case and will let you know of any developments as they happen...

We asked the council today if it had any new information about the merger, or the format and timing of any consultation.
The spokeswoman's reply: "No – this proposal is still with the Scottish Government. We’re not expecting to be in a position to give out any more information about it for some considerable time. But when we are, we’ll let you know!"

And we'll let you know…
