Hi there everyone.Just been been browsing and was delighted to find your forum.My wife and I live on the beautiful island of Cyprus and have done so for the last three years.
I was born in Kirn - Argyll Terrace,and attended Kirn Primary,then the old Grammar in Hillfoot Street and finished off at the new school in Ardenslate.I worked in the Bank of Scotland Dunoon for a couple of years and then joined the City of Newcastle Police in 1968. My missus and I got married in 1969 and I worked in Newcastle CID for nearly 30yrs and managed to attain the rank of Detective Inspector.During my working life we had many holidays in Cyprus and when I retired in 1998 we started thinking seriously about a move.That happened on 10th.January 2007 and we have no regrets whatsoever.
We have a two bed apartment in the south east of the island about 15 minutes from Ayia Napa and forty minutes from Larnaca Airport.
Life is good and temperatures are a bit more friendly than those where you are.As we speak it is 19C and not a breath of wind.We have had heavy rain for a couple of days but its more settled now.
This is just a bit of an introduction and we would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone might have on life out here.
