Volunteers and committee members are already planning the finer details on the 2016 Inveraray Games – known as the friendly games.

 

The event, on Tuesday July 19  will see members of the Inveraray community give of their time to set up stalls, mark out tracks, build dance platforms and all the other work associated with a traditional highland games.

A public meeting on Wednesday night concluded with a rallying call to march on Holyrood in September to get the town centre to town centre ferries that Dunoon deserves.

 

A packed St Mun’s church hall gathered to hear about ‘new ferries for Dunoon?’ at a meeting called by Dunoon-Gourock Ferry Action Group.

Minutes of a January meeting of the Gourock-Dunoon Ferry Services Steering Group – published this week – state that a local pressure group asked to be involved in ‘the assessment and scoring’ of tender submissions for the route. Dunoon Gourock Ferry Action Group (DGFAG), however, say the record is inaccurate.
