Cllr Fred Hall
Under-fire Argyll and Bute Council leader James Robb came under growing pressure this evening as Councillor Fred Hall, representing Oban South and the Isles, resigned from the SNP council group – claiming that “ideological differences” mean that it would be dishonest to remain as an administration member.
His resignation comes just weeks after another respected SNP councillor, Dunoon member Michael Breslin, quit the administration.

Chloe’s Sponsored Hair Shave
Argyll girl Chloe Whitton will be having a close shave on Wednesday (June 19) and is appealing for your help.
Twelve-year-old Chloe, from Blairmore, will be at Argyll College’s hair salon in Dunoon Grammar School at 4.00pm - doing a sponsored hair shave for Cancer Research UK.
It is in memory of her gran, who past away from cancer a few years ago.
Chloe said: “So far I have raised just over £750, although I am hoping to get round about £800. My friends at school and quite a few of my teachers have already sponsored me, and I have also raised money at my local sailing club, and the folk club at the Braes.
“I also have a just giving page, called Chloe’s hair shave. This is the link http://www.justgiving.com/Lorraine-Whitton1.
“It would be great if people could help me raise some more money.”
We’ll keep you up to date with Chloe’s fundraising in the Dunoon Observer.
